I am an economist and Associate Professor in the Department of International Economics, Institutions and Development (DISEIS) at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.
I hold an MSc in Political Science and Political Economy from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a PhD in Institutions and Politics (Economics major) from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

My research studies how institutions shape economic and political outcomes, with a strong focus on Historical Political Economy. I also investigate behavioral mechanisms through tools from microeconomics, behavioral economics, and experimental methods.

I hold the Italian National Habilitation for Full Professor (Scientific Area 13/A2).

I serve on the Editorial Board of Nature: Humanities and Social Sciences Communications and on the Editorial Board of La Società.
